The design of plain bearings/slide bearings

Plain bearings are especially suitable for big loads and high sliding speeds. Due to their geometry and lubricant film they handle impact loads very well, absorb vibration and are silent. To facilitate mounting and maintenance, there are a vast choice of bearing sizes and shapes. A well lubricated bearing is almost impossible to wear down.
